Course Description
The Pointe 9
represents the beauty of a course built into the natural terrain of the foothills. Starting directly at the clubhouse with a steep drop into the Pine Creek Valley , the Pointe offers an experience you won't forget. The Pine Creek meanders throughout the course and is a hazard that comes into play on nearly every hole. The most unique and dramatic hole is "The Natural", a dogleg par 5 that crosses the Pine Creek five times before finishing at a 30 foot elevated green. The ninth hole on the Pointe is a par 3 that will challenge all levels of golfers with a spruce tree forest that frames the green which is guarded by the Pine Creek in front. The Pointe offers a wonderful setting, and it will challenge your concentration level with the natural beauty and wildlife that surround you
Desert 9
nine is a links style course similar to those found at the old famous courses in Scotland . Offering a true test of golf for all levels, the Desert is a favorite of golf traditionalists, with its deep sand bunkers and wild fescue-lined fairways. One such hole aptly named " Scotland ", is a 463 yard par 4 that often plays into the wind. The "Scotland" is followed by "Windswept", a 517 yard par 5 which looks deceivingly narrow because of a monstrous 150 yard bunker along its left fairway. The hole finishes with an elevated and deceptively difficult 3-tiered green. Golfers also have to be wary of the par 4 eighth hole which features 12 large pot bunkers guarding the green, some of which are 10 feet deep!
Heritage 9
is a course that takes you on a roller coaster ride of sheer delight into the Pine Creek Valley . The first hole features an impressive downhill tee shot dropping 200 feet from the first tee to the valley floor below. The Heritage offers a blend of holes that will test a variety of golfing skills. Some of the most noteworthy holes include the fourth hole, appropriately named "Long & Mean" a lengthy par 4 with a forced carry over water for your second shot, and the eighth hole, known as the "Gorge". The "Gorge" has been described as one of Canada's best short par 4's. It measures only 312 yards, and tee shots must carry over a 200 foot gorge in order to find the fairway safely. The ninth hole is a true test of wit and courage. "The Island" is a par 5 that can be reached in two by long hitters, but it requires steely nerves and accuracy. Finishing scores on this true island hole are just as likely to be double bogeys as they are birdies. |
